Payroll Special – July 2018

We are sending an extra newsletter out this month to explain the changes to our payroll service.

Changes to our Payroll Service

In April we announced our new payroll manager Callum Moore.  We have monitored the service from Callum and his team closely and listened to feedback from our clients.  Unfortunately the service has not been as attentive as we would have liked. We are therefore changing our payroll personnel once again  to ensure that your payrolls are processed on time and accurately.

From this month (July), your payroll will be handled by Jennifer Byrom with support from Lorraine Cyabaniak.  See more about the Simple Accounting Team.

Lorraine Cybaniak – Payroll top
Jennifer is a director and runs the office at Simple Accounting. Her areas of expertise include Workplace pensions and liaison with the HMRC! She already works closely with all our clients and will be running the payroll service on a day-to-day basis.



Lorraine is an experienced Myob and AccountEdge Bookkeeper.   She has run the payroll for several small companies for many years. She will be overseeing the payroll service and making the RTI submissions to HMRC.

Normally:

1) If your wage bills are simple we will send you draft payslips and the summary payroll report by the penultimate Friday of a month (usually by 23rd).  You will have one week to tell us of any changes, otherwise we will assume the details are correct
.

2) If your payroll changes regularly, send the actual hours worked by employees & any changes to hourly rates each month.  Email us the details at least three working days before the end of the month. If we don’t hear from you we will prepare payslips and payroll reports based on the previous month. We will send you payslips and payroll reports allowing a day or two for checking.

3) We will initially send the payslips and monthly payroll report to the employer for final checking.  If requested we can also send payslips individually to employees by email at the end of the month.

4) We will also email you the P30 (employers payslip) on a quarterly/ monthly basis if PAYE/ NI is due at HMRC.

Please make sure that the net pay amounts for employees agree to the bank transfers or standing orders that you have set up for wages.

4) The payrolls will normally be filed at the HMRC by RTI on the last working day of a month.

5) Uploads to the Peoples Pension will be made by the 5th of the following month. 

We are happy to discuss alternative arrangements if you need something special. Email us if you need the payroll processed earlier in a particular month.
 If you have a new employee please complete the new starter form for them.

Let us know their new monthly salary or hourly rate. Is the amount to be paid different in the first month?  


Let us know if they are a temporary worker and their expected employment term.

To avoid a BR emergency tax code please send us a scan of a p45 (even if it is old), their last payslip with a previous employer or their latest tax code notice.  Also send us the email address for your recruit if we need to send their payslips to them directly.

We will add them to the payroll and prepare a letter for them about workplace pensions.
